SS Findings
Sterling Silver Retail Catalogue
The main portion of the pendant or pin, bracelet band or ring band is Sterling silver, the post (long stick which bead sets on) and ToppeR (round or conical shaped end to hold bead on post) are surgical stainless steel 316L (nickel free).
I listened to my customers and others concerning a SS post and their ability to bend and contort out of shape and that the threads do become marred more easily on SS. I chose to use Stainless Steel as stainless steel will not really bend without undue pressure and the threads will not marr easily at all by simple wear and tear. Simply unscrew the ToppeR slip away from pendant, pin, bracelet or ring and insert bead, then put back together and screw on the end.
When placing a bead on the post, make sure there is not a lot of space in between the bead and ToppeR ie: less than 0.5mm and that the bead is not too loose or tight. Make sure the bead spins freely when you move it by hand but not so that it just turns freely on its own. IF there is resistance when you move the bead, then eventually the ToppeR will unscrew and you could lose the bead and ToppeR
